In Libanon zijn er meer dan 100 massagraven uit de burgeroorlog, duizenden families wachten op een familielid of een bot om te begraven. ‘The Soil and the Sea’ onthult het geweld dat schuilgaat onder een tuin, een school en andere onopvallende landschappen.

Na deze unieke filmscreening openen we het gesprek met de producer van de film en Libanese professor politieke wetenschappen Carmen Hassoun abou jaoudé over mensenrechten en Libanon. In Lebanon, there are more than 100 mass graves from the civil war, with thousands of families waiting for a relative or a bone to bury. “The Soil and the Sea” reveals the violence hidden beneath a garden, a school and other inconspicuous landscapes.

After this unique film screening, we will open the discussion with the film’s producer and Lebanese professor of political science Carmen Hassoun abou jaoudé about human rights and Lebanon.
